4 Facts About Medicare You May Not Know

• There is no family coverage in Medicare. Each individual must meet eligibility on their own. This also means you each pay separate co-pays, premiums and deductibles.
• Medicare is not free - you still have premiums and deductibles.  But if you have a limited income there are services available that can help reduce your costs.
• If you live abroad and need to sign up for Medicare, you can do so with the help of the American Embassy or consulate in your host country.
• Medicare A & B does not cover routine dental and vision care or coverage beyond 100 days in a nursing home (and that is only if the care qualifies as "skilled"). In Oklahoma, Medicare does not cover assisted living at all. 

Open Enrollment for 2015 is October 15-December 7th and is for those with Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage Plans Only. If you are happy with the coverage you have now you do not need to do anything.
